Guide you holding your Drum Sticks Properly.
There are two Main grips when playing drums, Traditional Grip, and Matched Grip.
Traditional grip came from Military Snare Drummers hundreds of years ago
As their marching snares were strapped in such a way that the drum was at an angle and was too difficult to play a matched grip with, so they decided to change the grip of the left hand to suit the setup, by holding the stick in the web of their hand and placing two fingers under the stick and wrapping the other two above the stick …. Matched Grip, when it comes to matched grip it’s exactly as the name suggests. Both hands have the same grip. Many drummers use matched grip for kit drumming as it is a lot easier for playing around the kit and for reach to cymbals and other drums. There are a few different types of matched grip out there. Some examples are the German grip, and the French grip. Have a look at the images below to see the differences between these grips.
