He certainly is Rob,
it's little feckers like him that made me stop playing that instrument :) Seriously, he has a great tone which is really hard to do. It takes you 6 months to get a sound that sucks :)
I still dabble but really need a lot more practice to maintain or improve my tabla playing and life gets in the way. I learnt so much about rhythm and concepts that I have applied to the kit from Indian music. It's a whole other world.
Tabla playing once you get into it can be very addictive and you can practice anywhere, because of the quiet volume and soft tone, which doesn't pee people off, unlike even a practice pad can do.
