Do a bit of research into the various strokes. Full stroke, down stroke, tap stroke, up stroke. A couple of great books are Gary Chaffee's "Sticking
Patterns" and George Lawrence Stone's "Accents and Rebounds". But there's a lot of stuff on youtube on the subject too. As with everything new, take
it very slowly!

Easy lads, he's only just got here.
Here's how you can make a start. Using a metronome, you can start by playing single stroke 16th notes. what you'll be doing is playing a different
accent every 4 bars, starting with the first 16th note and then changing it to the next 16th every 4 bars, like this (the star represents the
accent)
(*e+a *e+a *e+a *e+a) x 4.
(1*+a 2*+a 3*+a 4*+a)x 4 you get the idea. Do the same with triplets. From there, start practising your rudiments.

here's a good un
plays from top left to bottom right as you would read it. caps are accents (louder) and lower case are ghost notes (soft). the tricky bit is the quick
change in the middle.

nice! start slow and build it up. make sure the ghost notes on the left and right hands that meet in the middle are the same volume and play it as
triplets.

aye , getting the dynamics right on that one can be tricky, especially in the middle bit.
glad you enjoyed it.
